AccESS Study Infographic Summary

Access and Engagement with Services for Sexual Safety for children and young people with problematic and harmful sexual behaviour (AccESS Study)

As part of a broader program supporting children and young people who have displayed problematic and harmful sexual behaviour (PHSB), I was engaged by the University of Wollongong to design a visual summary of the AccESS Study report—a complex, data-rich research study exploring service pathways and accessibility.

The final infographic document distills extensive statistical findings and qualitative insights into a clear, approachable visual narrative. A continuous “through-line” design device was developed to guide readers through the report, symbolising both the journey of the research and the lived experiences behind the data. A bold hero graph at the outset sets the tone, translating heavy data into an immediate and visually compelling statement.

Given the sensitive subject matter, the design balances professionalism with accessibility—using colour, iconography, and layout techniques to keep the content digestible, engaging, and respectful of its context. The result is a document that invites understanding and reflection, while meeting the high standards of clarity and visual cohesion expected across government communications.
