WentWest approached me with an initial placeholder logo for a new community health initiative—Our West Sydney—and a clear need: to develop a full visual identity that could carry the weight of their mission to improve healthcare services through genuine community engagement.
Building on the existing WentWest brand, I led the design of a complete branding package. This included refining the logomark to better represent community support, expanding the color palette to incorporate warmer red and pink tones, and developing a cohesive set of linear icons aligned with their visual language.
A key focus of the brand direction was inclusivity and empowerment. I established photography and illustration guidelines that highlight the diversity of Western Sydney—avoiding clichés and ensuring people are represented with dignity and strength, not as patients or victims.
The result is a thoughtful, community-centered brand that not only supports clear communication but also reflects the voices and values of the people it serves.
